The Rev. David T. Anderson, Ph.D., a priest of the Diocese of Virginia, died this morning, Tuesday, May 27, 2014. Mr. Anderson was ordained a priest in 2001. He served as a teacher and chaplain at St. Christopher's School in Richmond for many years. In 2003, he began serving as vicar at St. Stephen's, Richmond. In 2011, Bishop Shannon Johnston appointed him as priest-in-charge at St. James the Less, Ashland, and he was called as rector there in June 2013.  Mr. Anderson's ministry included dedicated service of many years on the diocesan Commission on Ministry.

Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife, Mary, and three children.

A memorial service was held on Friday, May 30, 2014, at 1 p.m. at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 6000 Grove Avenue, Richmond, Virginia.
