A memorial service in celebration of the life of Joan Everett will be held Friday, November 25, 2011 at 10:00 AM at St. Bartholomew's.  Rector Emeritus The Rev. Malcolm Turnbull will celebrate.

Long time St. Bart's parishioner, Joan Elizabeth van Haelen Everett , died peacefully on Monday morning, November 7, 2011 at Beth Sholom Nursing Home in Richmond, Virginia. She was a devoted mother to Abby (David), Nancy (Rob), Charles (Debbi), John (Louise), and Ellen (John); and loving grandmother to Tom, Nathaniel, Maria, Kristian, Nick, Nicholas, Simon, Jacob, Laura and Michael. She came to Richmond after retiring as an educator at Savona Campbell School in New York State.  While in Richmond she represented St. Bart's on the Interfaith Council of Greater Richmond, was active as a layreader and a member of Altar Guild, among many other activities.

 Donations in her memory may be sent to Richmond SPCA, where Joan volunteered, along with so many other organizations and causes that she championed.
